Take Home Reading Journal Middle Primary

Establish the link between school and home with this bright journal and folder. Now available for Middle Primary students. The journal acts as a reading record of the frequency of home reading undertaken by the child over the entire school year. Most teachers/schools devise their own journals by photocopying and place the journals and readers inside folders or large pencil cases for the trip between home and school. This new Take-home Reading Journal is a carefully researched and well designed book that comes with its own plastic folder so that teachers no longer have to go to the trouble and expense of photocopying pages for a journal, or finding a suitable folder or case to place it in. DESCRIPTION The journal is a small 64-page handbook with black text and black line illustrations suitable for colouring in. Amongst other features, it contains information for parents on helping with reading at home; a page per week for take-home reading to be recorded with space for carer, teacher and child comments; and fun activity pages on which children plot the number of books they have read and strive for milestones. The folder is plastic, A4 size, fastened by a velcro strip. There is a strip on the front on which children can write their names. The folders can be personalised by children by adding stickers and photos. There are three sections within the folder: one for the journal + take-home reader; one for spelling lists, M100W words, other frequently-used word lists and one for notices for home.
