Teaches every part of the QCAR mathematics framework through problem-based lessons in journals and blast workbooks. Detailed supporting materials are provided FREE for teachers to explain what to look for in student work, how to prompt thinking appropriately, how to encourage communication and what to look for in reflection activities. Teaching resources also include suggestions for differentiation for support and extension students. Includes Backwards Questions, written in NAPLAN style, for almost every learning activity. These questions focus on the kinds of questions that QLD students did poorly in during the 2007 NAPLAN tests. Those that required: working backwards, multistep, with a gap, too much information, non-standard numbers, non-standard place value and non-standard shapes. These questions fit with the Reflecting assessable element. Includes numerous investigations: aligned with ELs and EQ scope and sequence, providing all supporting materials, and including easy-to-understand guides to making judgements (criteria sheets). Does not dictate a week-by-week program, but provides Journal and Blast problems to be used in conjunction with Investigations in a manner that fits with your class. It teaches content efficiently so that you have more time for mathematics Investigations, revision, drill and practice; and flexibly to allow for the non-mathematical tasks such as athletics carnivals that take time out of class. Can be used to support your existing school maths program instead of dominating it, or as the basis for writing a new program. Use the lessons in any order that you wish to support your own school-based mathematics Investigations.

SERVICE UPDATE 3/02/2025
As of Monday, 3 February, heavy rainfall and road closures continue to cause delivery delays across Far North Queensland. With weather conditions worsening over the weekend, the Bruce Highway remains closed in multiple locations.
As a result, our couriers are unable to transport freight into or out of Cairns and Townsville and for a minimum of the next 48 hours. We are monitoring the situation and will provide updates as they become available.
If an item on your back-to-school list is or was out of stock at the time of pack collection, it will have been noted on the paperwork supplied with your order as being on backorder for you. The delivery delays will affect the length of time that backordered items take to arrive to us from our suppliers - this is beyond our control. Please be patient with our staff.
Open Monday Tuesday Friday from 8am-4pm. Open Wednesday Thursday from 8am-5pm.Open Saturday from 8am - 12pm closing strictly at midday.
